CSP TIDERIDERS COMPETE AT JUNIOR NATIONALS
ST. LOUIS, MO (January 9, 2009) – CSP TIDERIDERS, a swim program founded in 1938 and one of the first swimming programs in the United States, is pleased to announce several of their swimmers competed at the 2008 Speedo Short Course Junior National Championships in Austin, Texas (Dec.11-14). Many of the CSP swimmers swam their best times and several records were broken.
Daniel Miller, who will be swimming at Stanford next year, finished 8th in the 500 freestyle, breaking the CSP 17-18 Boys and Open team records. He also broke the CSP Age Group record and Open team record in the 200 Butterfly in which he placed 5th.
Finishing 5th in the 400 Individual Medley, and 11th in the 100 Freestyle, Evan Noble broke the CSP Age Group and Open Team record in both events. While leading off the 200 Free Relay, Evan broke the CSP 17-18 Boys team record in the 50 Freestyle. Evan also placed 8th in the 200 Individual Medley.
Competing in the 50 Freestyle, Will Derdeyn finished 15th. Charles Du placed 22nd in the 200 Butterfly, swimming a personal best time. Also swimming her best time, was Etinosa Ogbevoen in the 50 Freestyle.
In the relay events, the girls 200 Freestyle finished 13th setting a new CSP Open team record. Swimming in the event were Etinosa Ogbevoen, Morgan Mullenix, Annie Goessling, and Maddie Wall. Finishing 19th, and just off the team record in the girls 400 Freestyle Relay, and 24th in the girls 800 Freestyle Relay were Annie Goessling, Maddie Wall, Elizabeth Krane, and Morgan Mullenix. In the boys relay events, the 200 Freestyle, swam by Daniel Miller, Will Derdeyn, Evan Noble, and Adam Sharp, finished 6th setting a new Open team record as well as the Ozark record for 17-18 boys. Swimming the boys 400 Freestyle Relay and also placing 6th, were Charles Du, Daniel Miller, Evan Noble, and Adam Sharp. A new Ozark and CSP Age Group record was set in the event. Du, Miller, Noble, and Sharp also swam in the boys 800 Freestyle Relay, finishing 3rd and setting a new Team Age Group and Open record as well as the Ozark Age Group and Open record.
Overall, the CSP Tiderider boys finished in 6th place at the meet, while the combined placing for the team was 15th.
The CSP Tideriders prides itself on developing the skill levels of their swimmers while providing an atmosphere that allows each individual to attain their highest potential. CSP swimmers have qualified for Zone and Sectional Championships, Junior and Senior National Championships and the Olympic Trials.
