CSP Travels to compete at the Empire Swim Club March Mania Meet

This past weekend, CSP took more than 80 athletes to compete at the Empire Swim Club March Mania Meet, that was held in Gladstone, MO.  At the meet, Austin Chu broke his own 100 Fly Team and Ozark Record, added the 50 Fly as an Ozark Record (a record that has stood since 1983) and then broke the Team Records in the 100 Free, 100 Back and 200 IM. 

Winning High Points this weekend were Shelby Bushong and Wil Welch in the 15 & Over Age Group, MJ Bezzant as the 13 – 14 Girls and Aiden Kim for the 12 & Under Boys.  There was tons of excitement at Finals as our athletes were fighting to win their heats for a shot at some cool meet swag!

This meet was a prelims final meet split between 12 & Unders and then 13 & Overs.  The 12 & Unders brought back Top 8, while the 13 & Overs brought back Top 24.  While we are still not able to have spectators in the meet, the meet was live streamed and watched by many near and far away.  We were lucky to have some parents who took over the announcing duties and we appreciate their help and voices.  Thanks to Nancy Cunneen, Brad Kelley, Rebecca Naber, Jennifer Renaud and Jessica Voss.

In the 12 & Unders, winning events were Reese Anderson, Austin, Aiden, Will Plassmeyer, Ema Stojicevic and William Unger.  Making Finals in the Top 8 were Jackson Brinton, Kate Brinton, Claire Chumley, Nora Cooke, Ryan DeMargel, Harrison Frost, Jordyn Hamrah, Henry Hassenstab, Brandon Hu, Sienna Kelley, Maitland Michaelson, Mason Voss and Arlo Ziolkowski.  Alternates were Emma Fouke, Olivia Hanes and Gavin Palatt.  Also competing at the meet were Olive Agustin, Lucy Baley, Thomas Goltermann, Reid Haffenreffer, Marissa Kelley, Evan Kim, Charlotte Leary, Prairey Maxwell, Vada Tulyasathien and Eli Voss.

Winning events in the 13 & Over Age Group were, MJ, Katheryn Chaves, Jackson Fox, Paige Howell, Ryan Mauney and Hannah Renaud.  Placing in the Top 8 were Laura Bonds, Shelby, Grace Coppel, Avery Cunneen, Sam Ellenhorn, Charlie Hill, Caitlin Kuhlmann, Lucy Maxey, Lindsay Naber, Kate Punnawaert, Graham Sagel, Nina Schuerer, Alex Snyder, Sophia Snyder, Gavin Thomas, Willem Thomas, Emma Welch, Wil and Hunter Wilson.  Finishing in the Top 16 were Masis Bagautdinov, Brody Blatt, Casey Chu, Cate Fear, Everdine Ferguson, Luke Gill, Sylvia Hanes, Sophie Howell, Lily Ta, Camden Theodos, Sarah Wallace and Ella Welch.  Swimming in the Top 24 for the 13 – 14 Year Olds Corbin Cole, Wenxu He and Isabel Phillips.  Also competing at the meet were Max Boevingloh, Kaitlyn Cragg, Claire DuBois, Emily Frazier, Amalie Gierasch, Sophia Goodwin, Evan Holden, Lauren Randall, Austin Theodos and Mariam Zakhary.
