Happy Retirement Terry

HAPPY RETIREMENT!

Please help us wish the very best for Dr. Terry Varney Freerks, who will be retiring from CSP at the end of this week after years of dedication. She has been with CSP since she was a tot in 1957! She started off as a CSP swimmer (still with Age Group records), moved to become a Head Coach, then Executive Director and Executive Director Emeritus. Terry has coached Junior and Senior Nationals Finalists along with Olympic Trial Qualifiers. Her love for the water and swimming has never tired, as you can still find her with a smile on her face, moving gracefully through the water at any given CSP Masters’ practice. In 2008, Terry was inducted into the 2008 Ozark Swimming Hall of Fame.

As a swimmer, Terry was a Collegiate All American, Masters All American, Age Group and Masters National Record Holder, Junior National, Senior National, and Olympic Trial Qualifier.

On behalf of the coaching staff (and swimmers) having been with Terry for a large portion of her incredible ride with CSP, we cannot say enough about the quality of her character and the example of commitment that she has shown us and brought into our lives. We always knew we were in good hands. We had not only an outstanding mentor, but a great advocate and  friend. Terry was patient, understanding and sensitive to our needs. Quick to help solve an issue, laugh at a simple mishap, or give you an ear, she was always available. Through her hard work and professionalism, Terry inspires us to pursue excellence and passion to the sport, coaching and CSP.

We will miss her wisdom and guidance. Thankfully, we will still have her friendship and we will most definitely continue to see her on the pool deck.

Terry, we want to thank you for all that you have done for us, the community, the team, the parents, the swimmers and alumni, as well as, the future little CSP hands and feet that will learn to love the water as you do. You have and will forever, make a huge impact on the lives of so many, and we are genuinely grateful.

May you enjoy your retirement, Terry. We hope you and Stan get to travel, and do everything you dreamed about doing. We are so happy for you!
