Samantha Lee has made her verbal commitment to attend and swim for Indiana University - Purdue University Indianapolis. IUPUI is a public research college located in Indianapolis, Indiana. Samantha will join the JAGS in the fall of 2023. IUPUI is an NCAA Division I school that competes in the Horizon League Conference. Please join me in congratulating Samantha on such a big decision! CSP had 19 swimmers participating at this year’s 14 & Under Zones Championship as part of Team Ozark. We had more individual champions than ever before. Austin Chu won 5 of his 6 Individual events and was the 11-12 Boys High Point Winner. Austin set Ozark Records in the 50 Back, 200 Back and 50 Fly and a Team Record in the 100 Back. CSP takes 25 swimmers to NCSA Junior Nationals in Indianapolis, Indiana at the IUPUI Natatorium. We had a great week of racing some of the best teams and swimmers in the country. As a combined team we finished in 11th place. Our Men’s team finished in 10th place and our Women’s team finished in 14th place. CSP went into Long Course Champs as the defending champion, and once again ended up in first place. CSP had both the Female and Male Swimmer of the meet. These Awards are based upon Wins, Ozark Records, USA Swimming Top 10 and Coaches votes. Emma Fouke won for the Girls, while Austin Chu won for the Boys! CSP sent 32 swimmers to the Central Section Region VIII Championships this past weekend at the University of Missouri. This group was the 3rd biggest team at the meet, but was easily one of the youngest groups. With 17 of our swimmers being 15 & under. We have 28 of our best training for NCSA Junior Nationals which would have put us as the biggest team by far if all our athletes were there as no team had more than 35 swimmers. The CSP Summer Invitational was fantastic. With almost 1000 athletes, the 84th Summer Invite was a huge undertaking this year! We had a great day on Friday, Hot as everything on Saturday and then Cold and Rainy on Sunday! What else would one expect at the Summer Invite! This past weekend, CSP sent 15 swimmers to Open Water Zones and the results were amazing! Niko Theodos won the Open 5K, while Cabot Murawski won the 13 - 14 2.5K.
