At this past weekends Central Zone 14 & Under Championship, the Tideriders helped to represent Ozark in a big way! Current CSP athletes did outstanding. CSP had 36 athletes compete at the 2023 NCSA Junior National Championships at IUPUI in Indianapolis, Indiana. Overall the team placed 8th in the meet out of 83 teams entered in the meet. This year’s Long Course Champs meet was a rousing success! CSP went to the meet with almost 120 athletes entered, which made up about 20% of the meet. We came out on top for the 5th straight year, while also scoring the most points in the Boys and Girls section of the meet. This past weekend, CSP took 59 athletes to the Summer Sectional meet. This was the highest number of athletes entered in the meet, and the Tideriders made up 10% of the meet swimmers. Our swimmers who will be competing at the NCSA Junior National Championship Meet, either did not attend Sectionals, or they competed one day only, while still training for their NCSA Meet. The 85th CSP Summer Invitational was a huge success. This is the 2nd longest running meet in USA Swimming, and the coaches spent many hours leading up, during and after the meet. From just doing entries for CSP, taking entries from other teams, scheduling workers, setting up every morning and shutting down every night, and of course working with all of our swimmers during the meet, the coaches wore many hats this past weekend. CSP had 15 swimmers representing Team Ozark at this years Open Water Zones Meet, and our swimmers withstood some frigid water and strong winds! Paige Haug was 6th for the 10 & Under Girls, while Eli Voss was 8th for the Boys. CSP took Mother’s Day weekend to Lenexa, Kansas and competed in the Rose Memorial Swim Meet. We had over 100 swimmers attend this prelim/final meet at the pool that will host this summer’s central zones meet. We had may outstanding performances by all of our swimmers! Max Marcus a member of our Elite Group and a Junior at Kirkwood High School has made his verbal commitment to Princeton University. Princeton is a private Ivy League research university located in Princeton, New Jersey. Max will join the Tigers in the Fall of 2024. Princeton is an NCAA Division I University that competes in the Ivy League. Please join me in congratulating Max on making such a big decision! Go Tigers!

The first Long Course Meet of the Year was a record-breaking year. Emma Fouke broke the 11 – 12 Girls 50 Breast, which has stood since 1987. Then Emma teamed with Marissa Kelley, Lucy Baley and Prairey Maxwell to break the 11 – 12 Girls 200 Medley Relay. Great way to begin the Long Course Season!
